Mikasa City
Hokutan Ikushunbetsu Coal Mine Nishiki Shaft Tower
Construction of the Ikushunbetsu vertical shaft tower began in 1917. When completed it was 215 meters deep, with a hard pit head 10 meters high; it is the oldest vertical shaft in Hokkaido. The steel bones of the shaft bear the seal of Kyushu Hachiman Steelworks.
