Bibai City
Mitsubishi Bibai Coal Mine Vertical Pit Tower
Built in 1923, this is the second oldest vertical pit tower in Hokkaido, and the only one of its kind in Japan. Two vents, one for intake, one for exhaust line up side by side; currently the site is open to the public as part of the Coal Mine Memorial Forest Park.
