Yubari City
Saitan Kyukoku Kofu-no-Zou - Statue of Coal Miner Mining to Save the Country
This concrete statue (3.63 meters high) built in 1944 was a symbol of Yubari, the city of coal mining. It is not merely a familiar icon to citizens of Yubari, but also carries value as an artifact of wartime.
